Meet the Team
Our team is made up of the Director, Deputy director and Technical Assistant along with a team of senior management, programme managers and staff across NACCW’s programme, training, finance, human resources, monitoring and evaluation, and operation departments. The organization is governed by a national executive committee (NEC) who are elected by its membership.
NEC and Governance
NACCW is the only association of child and youth care workers in South Africa. NACCW has an established footprint across provinces predominantly as a result of its positive engagement through its membership structures, training and programme implementation. The organization is governed by a national executive committee (NEC) who are elected by the membership. Elections are held biennially. The National Chairperson is elected separately, biennially, in the alternate year. The NACCW constitution makes provision for an NEC to be elected by the NACCW members based on one elected member per province, who becomes the Provincial Chairperson. The role of the provincial structures, i.e. provincial executive committees (PECs), is to maintain membership activities in the provinces. For example, PECs establish CYCWs’ forums or related forums to further the aims of the association in the province and those that are sanctioned by the NEC.All the Provincial Chairpersons (from PECs) make up the NEC. The NEC has an Executive Committee structure made up of the Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson and the Treasurer. The day-to-day running of NACCW is delegated by the NEC to the Director of the organization and two deputy directors, supported by NACCW staff.
